This special holiday begins among the hills and valleys of Tuscany.
Your home will be the lovely four star hotel in the beautiful fortress town of Lucca, Italy, birthplace of the renowned composer Giacomo Puccini.
You will you experience the delights inside the walls of Lucca and venture into the beautiful Tuscany countryside visiting the exceptional privately owned Villa Torrigiani, charming Collodi where the story of Pinocchio began, and the ancient village of Montecarlo, stopping for a wine and olive oil tasting at a local farmhouse.
The adventure continues with a day spent following the path of Puccini visiting his birthplace in Lucca, Celle dei Puccini, the ancestral family home in Pescaglia, and Casa Puccini at Torre del Lago, his final home and resting place.
We’ll visit the small, picturesque village of Leonardo da Vinci, including his birthplace and the museum displaying his mechanical innovations and paintings.
Another day finds us first visiting the charming town of Volterra, founded by the Etruscans and containing a bounty of relics. Volterra is best known for its alabaster. Then a stop in the town of Lajatico, home to Andrea Bocelli and a visit Teatro del Silenzio where the singer performs every year.
