Join us in this tour to discover two totally different, but both amazing Tuscan art towns: Pisawith the Leaning Tower, one of the Seven Wonders of the world, in Piazza dei Miracoli and Lucca with its renaissance amasingly preserved surrounding Walls.
We start the tour admiring the surrounding landscape of the Apuan Alps with the typical white marble, the Pisa mountains, the Natural Park flora of San Rossore and Migliarino. In Pisa, you will have plenty of time to explore the “Miracles Square”, the circular Baptistery with itsamazing acoustic, the Cathedral with its precious interior and the impressive Leaning Tower. From the top of the it Galileo experimented his Free Fall theory. All these masterpieces characteristic of the Romanesque style were entirely built using white Carrara marble!
The second part of the tour is in Lucca. The first stop will be at the City Walls, where you will admire their magnificence and discover all the secrets of their architecture. Then, tou will continue the visit strolling through the narrow medieval streets to explore the most important and interesting corners of this “antique jewel”.
You will admire the Puccini’s birthplace and stop at the the central square of San Michele. From there you will reach Via Fillungo, the historical shopping street where the traders sold precious silk products. Here, you can find Top Italian fashion accessories. You can also visit the Guinigi Tower, the Amphitheatre Square, the Church of San Frediano and the Cathedral of San Martino.
The tour ends with the relaxing drive from Lucca back to Viareggio. On the way, you can admire the “Puccini’s Lake”, which was fundamental for the Maestro’s inspiration. The lake blends with the Versilia’s coastline in the splendid Tuscan afternoon!
