Only few towns in the world can offer a clear image of past civilizations. Volterra is a heaven of Etruscan, Roman and Medieval art. Perched high up on a hill top the town offer a spectacular view of olive groves and vineyards. The city craftsmen work a local stone, called Alabaster: similar to the marble, but much more transparent. Typical lunch on local products can be included.
