Perched on a secluded hilltop stands this town, designed as an ideal Renaissance city. The humanist Pope Pio II ,commissioned Bernardo Rossellino to redesign his native village, the name Corsignano.

Pienza is a Renaissance jewel of the Val d’Orcia. It is a town rich of artistic and natural treasures, a loved destination for all tourists. Pio II square, is the central square we will visit first. Our stroll will continue with The Piccolomini building and its big panoramic garden. Masterpiece of Bernardo Rossellino, this is the most important building of Pienza, and it represents a copy of Rucellai building in Florence. We will walking along the walls, amazing the beautiful panorama.
Pienza is also a town with ancient cooking traditions, infact there are many typical products, lovely to eat;that’s why we will taste the most typical cheese of this area: the “ pecorino”. After the free lunch, we will discover the “vino Nobile “ and one of the historical cellars with tasting of wine and vin santo.
